Just Felt Like It

Staring at Hanging Lake

Hello friend.

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written a personal blog post. I’ve always been one to write out my thoughts from starting a diary since I was like 8 or 9 years old to the days of Xanga, Tumblr, and now, I guess… WordPress? I don’t know what’s the go-to platform for blogs nowadays. Lately, I’ve been journaling (inconsistently) in random notebooks I’ve gotten for free through the years.

Not sure if it’s because I’m lacking creativity in my 9-5 job or the weird psychological effects of a pandemic, but I miss creating my own content on my own terms. Screw algorithms, getting the “perfect” photo, writing in a specific style, being “brand compliant”, timing, just basically all the nitty gritty stuff when it comes to content creation. Like ain’t nobody got time for that. I want the realness, the rawness, the transparency of being human. And doing all of that nitty gritty stuff, but with ownership.

So here we are, I finally created a website. I know this isn’t much, but it’s something. I actually had the website created earlier this year, but have put it off ’cause well, have you seen how 2020 has been? My creativity comes and goes, so we’ll see how consistent I post on here. Hopefully I’ll stick with it this time – I’ve created multiple websites in the past but most are now very inactive or dead. Maybe this will be the start of something new (High School Musical anyone?). So follow my journey if you like and let’s get to know one another 🙂

Your Friend,

Vivian
